We are very happy to announce that we have a new applications engineer on board at Rapid3D. Josh Hines has joined the team and brings his vast manufacturing experience as a Mechanical Engineer to our team in a lead role and partner. Project Spotlight: Badland Buggy
Badland Buggy of Leduc, Alberta, an off road vehicle design company, partnered with TMD Custom Fab Inc of Edmonton, Alberta, are prototyping a new single seat 180hp Hayabusa powered sand rail design named ?MEGALODON?. MEGALODON features design innovations such as a completely modular bolt-on front suspension/steering system & modular bolt-on rear drive system including coil-over shocks, CV joints, full disc brakes & an optional high performance reverse gear box with a differential. Badland Buggy commissioned Rapid3D to scan & create 3D CAD models of a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa motorcycle engine as well as a Corbeau FX1 Pro Racing Seat. The Rapid3D CAD models created for Badland Buggy are used to design highly accurate engine mounts, custom exhausts, firewall clearances & shifter linkages.

Badland Buggy is heading to SEMA 2011 (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) in Las Vegas on Nov 1-4 to attend this years? largest automotive aftermarket trade show in the world with the intention of debuting Project: MEGALODON at SEMA 2012.
